In a memo, U.S. Attorney General, Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice is rescinding the non-interference cannabis policies from the Obama Administration, including the Cole Memorandum as well as other banking memorandums which allowed state regulated medical marijuana programs to flourish like ours in Massachusetts. Additionally US Attorney Andrew Lelling from Massachusetts has indicated that no one is immune from Federal prosecution having a chilling effect on prospects of safe access in the state.
Medical marijuana patients are already being negatively impacted by the change with one processor who processed debit card transactions no longer processing for dispensaries. It will only get worse.
Please join the Massachusetts Patient Advocacy Alliance and our supporters in solidarity across the nation in protesting this action by the Attorney General. We will be meeting outside of the John Joseph Moakley Federal Courthouse at 1 Courthouse Way in Boston.
MPAA will provide signs to hold and donuts for everyone who attends.
