Medical marijuana sales growing north of Boston

With two dispensaries in business, a third set to open, and nine others in advanced stages of state approval, the medical marijuana industry is poised to blossom north of Boston.

“Things are looking great,” said Nichole Snow, executive director of the Massachusetts Patient Advocacy Alliance, who credits Governor Charlie Baker for the streamlined process that cleared the path for many news dispensaries to open.

“Every day we find new applications in the pipeline,” said Snow, adding that there are now dispensaries with provisional certification “from Pittsfield to Provincetown.” Several other dispensaries are poised to open in the coming months, according to Michael Latulippe, the alliance’s development director and like Snow, a Salem resident.

Medical marijuana fees filling state coffers

Medical marijuana is pouring money into the state's coffers, as the number of pot patients and dispensaries grow.

"It wasn't a smooth rollout, but it's starting to get traction," said Nichole Snow, director of the Massachusetts Patient Advocacy Alliance. "The state doesn't want this program to be an embarrassment."

Brockton dispensary to offer statewide medical marijuana delivery

In Good Health, which was the state’s second medical marijuana dispensary when it opened in Brockton in 2015, is set to become the first to offer home delivery of the drug across most of Massachusetts.

“A delivery service is what patients have been dying and begging for,” said Nichole Snow, executive of the Massachusetts Patient Advocacy Alliance, which represents medical marijuana patients. “I’m not sure they’ll be able to take on the entirety of Massachusetts, but I’m looking forward to seeing how successful they are and I hope this is a good sign of things to come.”
